From Mike,
You would not expect to stay dry if you left your umbrella at home while it is raining outdoors.
On the same note, you cannot expect to stay lean or lose weight without packing your lunch (or meals) for the day. Relying on the current “food service industry” to provide you with healthy options is a mistake. If you continue to let the food industry dictate what is on your plate; staying lean and healthy will be extremely difficult if not impossible to most people.
We live in a society where everyone is on the run. Restaurant chains and quick stop shops cater to these types of consumers. Albeit that some places try to cater to the “healthy minded” market, (McDonald’s now serves oatmeal), their main target are those that try to go through their day without packing a lunch, and need to go out and pay $11.74 for a sandwich and soup.
Get into the habit of packing your lunches/meals to work. It is an easy way to save calories (not to mention $$$). Why pay $10.97 for a salad that costs $2.00? Take the $30.00 you save every week put it towards fitness. Perhaps a new workout outfit that displays a leaner, stronger, and healthier physique?
A little preparation goes a long way…
